Oka Hiroshi was born on 11th January 1959 in Ehime Prefecture, Japan. He graduated from University of Tokyo in Faculty of Law. He joined the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1982 and went on to become the Director in First Middle East Division, Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau in 2003. He was later became the Counsellor in Embassy of Japan in Saudi Arabia from 2005 to 2008. After his tenure as the Minister in Embassy of Japan in United Kingdom in 2008, he served as the Director-General, Intelligence and Analysis Service in 2014. He was also appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Turkey in 2016. In 2017 to 2019 he became the Assistant Minister and Director-General in Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau. Oka has started his job as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Malaysia on 7th November 2019.
