Where Everyone Matters: Pride and Unity In Islam

2.1 USAS has been organizing the WCIT since 2012. The Conference has since been gazetted as one of Perak’s state events.

2.2 The main purpose of the Conference is to provide a platform and avenue for regional and world leaders, scholars, intellectuals, and the public to freely interact and articulate their thoughts in a dynamic and rigorous intellectual environment that is conducive to the exchange of ideas, all for the purpose of addressing real and actual contemporary problems affecting the Muslim World.

2.3 Beginning in 2016, USAS came up with a series of interrelated and interconnected themes, starting with “Future World”. It was hoped that the theme would lay the foundations and guidelines for the Muslims to seek the meanings of what truly constitutes their future world.

2.4 The Future World embraces the notion of the possibility of two alternate futures: one where the Muslim World leads and guides the direction the world is to take, or two, the Muslim World actively partakes in the success and development of the kind of future world that the nations of the world have collectively decided on.

2.5 The Future World series has brought us to other notions and conceptions that have, over the years, intellectually driven us to discuss and deliberate on notions of Global Peace (2017), Securing the Future (2018), Sharing Our Humanity (2022), and Together We Stand: Muslims and Global Humanity (2024).

2.6 Despite conceiving notions and conditions of peace, prosperity, and human decency for the world to come, our future world, the Conference remained largely theoretical, academic, and rhetorical. A more realistic, useful, and pragmatic approach is still needed that would enable us to translate all theories, academic idealism, and high-sounding rhetoric into real-life works and activities, thus ensuring long-term sustainability.

2 2.7 2022 marked a new beginning in modern politics. Russia decided to invade Ukraine. The Ukrainian war continues to reinforce the ideas and dire need for multilateralism and multinational collaboration and cooperation. And again, in October 2023, yet another new front in the world crisis surfaced – the Israeli-Palestinian War.

2.8 What the new world conflicts have alerted us to is the damning silence of the Muslim World. The voice of the Muslims is muted, their very existence kept irrelevant and marginalized, and their political strength not taken seriously. The new paradigm of a single global humanity remains ever important for WCIT, but the focus has now shifted to the Muslim World.

2.9 Both the Muslim and Non-Muslim worlds must realize and admit their existential need for each other. Both worlds should work together as partners and players within an overarching civilization of a single humanity, rather than seeing themselves as rivals and enemies. The slogan, “United We Stand, Divided We Fall,” ought to remind us of our responsibilities.

2.10 If the Muslim World were to be taken seriously, its voice must be heard, its political strength must be respected, and its relevance must be considered. Something has to be done about the Muslim World’s diminishing influence and the lack of care between the very nations of Islam.

2.11 WCIT2026 hopes to ensure and encourage Muslims to look into themselves and admit mistakes and incapacities, strengthen their economies and nations, right their wrongs, partake in the global effort to sustain peace and harmony among world cultures, and preserve global security and environmental sustainability. All wars have to be ended, all crises overcome.

2.12 The WCIT2026 Conference will focus more on what our Muslim nations could offer and share in terms of real-life experiences; takeaways that could be followed up with actual social programs of action for direct and immediate implementation by them.

2.13 WCIT2026 strongly intends to wake the Muslim World up, to tell the Muslim nations to buck up and strengthen their countries, and most importantly, to help other Muslim nations to stand tall and not to leave any nation behind. It is only with strength, integrity, and dignity that other nations will take the Muslim World seriously and listen to its voices with respect.
