TAN SRI DATO’ SETIA HAJI AMBRIN BUANG

Tan Sri Dato’ Setia Haji Ambrin is one of Malaysia’s most distinguished public sector leaders, with over four decades of experience in public administration, governance, auditing, and corporate leadership. He currently serves as the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) and is a member of the Selangor Royal Council (Dewan Diraja Selangor). Tan Sri Ambrin served as the Auditor-General of Malaysia from 2006 to 2017, during which he played a pivotal role in strengthening public-sector financial accountability and enhancing governance standards. His distinguished public service also includes appointments as Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education, State Secretary of Selangor, Minister for Economic Affairs at the Malaysian Embassy in Tokyo, and senior positions within the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, the Malaysian Timber Industry Board, and the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Malaya and a master’s in International Business from the University of South Carolina, USA. Today, he continues to contribute to national development through leadership roles in major organisations, including Gamuda Berhad, LITRAK, and Yayasan Pelaburan Bumiputra, while remaining a respected advocate for integrity, governance, and sustainable institutional leadership.
