SHAYKH DR. MUHAMMAD BIN YAHYA AL NINOWY

He is an American scholar, author, and medical doctor based in Atlanta, Georgia. His noble lineage traces directly to the Prophet Muhammad through Sayyid al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī — a sacred trust carried through generations of scholars and spiritual guides. He is the founding director of Madina Institute and Seminaries, The Centre for Non-Violence and Peace Studies, and the charitable organisation Madina Mercy, with campuses in the USA, South Africa, Canada, UK, Norway, Turkey and Malaysia.  Through Madina Institute, Shaykh Dr. Muhammad bin Yahya al-Ninowy offers Islamic & Arabic Studies Degree programs designed to educate imams and scholars worldwide. He is considered a Muhaddith and serves as the founding president of Madina Institute in South Africa, a fully accredited institution offering BA, Honours, and master’s degrees. He also serves on the board of the Islamic University in Malaysia by royal appointment of the Sultan. The Shaykh is also known for his scholarly works in Quranic Sciences (Ulum al-Quran), Hadith Sciences (Ulum al-Hadith), Theology (Aqidah), Islamic Legal Theory (Ulum al-Fiqh), Islamic Law (Fiqh), and Purification of the Heart (Tasawuf). He is the author of many books, including Non-violence: A Fundamental Islamic Principle, and founded a school for nonviolence studies rooted in Islamic principles.
