Lt. Col. Abdul Mujib bin Haji Japar was commissioned as the RBAF Officer in 2008 after completing the Officer Cadet School course at Sandhurst Academy, United Kingdom. He graduated with Bachelor of Art in Usuluddin (Dakwah and Islamic Culture) from University of Al-Azhar, Egypt in 2004. In 2021, he completed two Master’s Degree programs; Master of Science in Military Science from National Defence University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Master of Government (Islamic Governance) from University of Brunei Darussalam. He used to work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade as Research Officer in the Department of International Organisation for two years, and then joined the United Nation Interim Force in Lebanon for peacekeeping mission in 2013. He is one of the qualified United Nation peacekeeping instructors in the RBAF after joining the United Nations Military Expert on Mission Course at the Malaysian Peace Keeping Centre in 2018. He worked in the Religious Operation Office since 2019 and was appointed as Staff Officer Grade One from 2021-2023. As a religious preacher (daie), he is certified by Brunei Islamic Religious Council and is one of the well-known preacher in the RBAF. On 15 May 2024, Lt. Col. Abdul Mujib has officially been appointed as the Acting Director of the RBAF Religious Directorate.
